Hmm...I may need to print this for a future scrabble game.
Hubby & I are WAY too competitive at Scrabble. It's sad, really. :)

Wow, I think I would have challenged these if it were me. Especially the "ares". Good to know though. Like Jennjr I think I might have to print this for future use, either that or keep a dictionary on hand.

I actually challenged DRYS when I was just a beginner in the club. I played RINGGITS during a tournament which got me an extra turn :)

Hmm... this is something new. I never knew using words that would cause your opponent to challenge it is also a game tactic. Interesting!

Yeah, in competitive Scrabble (at least in North America), you lose a turn if you challenge an acceptable word.
Studying really pays off...speaking of which, need to get back to it :)

Is it cheating to look at the box/directions at the Q words while playing the game. I'm sure this wouldn't happen during a competition.

We usually give newcomers to our club a cheat sheet that contains all the short words with Q,X,J and Z. But we expect them to learn it in about a month or two.

That's fair. I could probably learn to do that. I would definitely be a NEWBIE!

i LOVE that "QAT" word. I use it whenever I can :)
BTW, I didn't know " QWERTY" was usable. Thanks for the tips

Yup, those Q without U words sure are handy. They say SUQ was the most played word with the Q before QAT became acceptable. Scrabble players generally get rid of the Q because it hampers us from getting a bingo. They just revised the dictionary and QI was added. It will definitely make it easier to dispose of the Q.
